<p >The purpose of the study is to create an appliance supporting drug application during in-hospital treatment. Each patient being treated at the hospital gets a personal chip card with a unique code. The use of such an appliance works in two ways. In the first option, a patient reaches for the appliance on their own and uses their card received at the reception desk and after a few seconds the correct medicine dose is delivered. The second option is dedicated for patients confined to bed. They are provided with their medicine by a robot/device controlled by Bluetooth RC controller available for Android and iOS.</p><p >Material selection and creation of the proper source code was the most demanding part when building the appliance. The parts of the appliance were created with 3D printer with PLA filament (approved for food contact) for servo and the entire casing. Arduino Uno/Mega 2560 microcontroller was used with examples database. When the servo used in the appliance unlocks the block, the patient is given a medicine dose. The servo can be programmed for the amount of medicine doses, for example thrice a day. The device can give numerous signals which inform the patient about the process for example when the medicine dose is released, there is a blue diode on with an alert on the LCD display and a happy sound and when there is a card error, a red diode is on with a sad sound and an accurate alert on the display saying that the patient should go to the help desk. </p>
