<html><body>I developed a parallel SCARA robot that automatically plays 4×4 Tic-Tac-Toe with physical discs against a human opponent. The human's discs contain neodymium magnets, detected by Hall sensors mounted under the board – this is responsible for tracking the human's moves. The robot picks discs from a dispenser using a vacuum gripper and places them on the board. The entire control system runs on an Arduino Mega 2560, implemented as a finite state machine. <figure><img src="https://projects.arduinocontent.cc/03e5e36b-1522-408b-8402-83bfe4913fc0.jpg"/><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://projects.arduinocontent.cc/25a21b52-dff6-4517-9aad-5a5ab1a62f33.jpg"/><figcaption></figcaption></figure> The system includes a menu-driven user console with 4 function buttons, handling difficulty selection, game start, and the selection of the starting player. There are two difficulty modes: the easier one moves randomly, while on hard mode the robot deliberately analyses the board, blocks the opponent, and searches for the winning move. In this mode, it becomes unbeatable. The algorithm could be further developed in the future – for example using minimax with alpha-beta pruning – where the robot simulates every possible future move and always selects the mathematically optimal one.
