<html><body> <figure><img src="https://github.com/CapibaraZero/.github/blob/main/logo.png?raw=true"/><figcaption></figcaption></figure><h3>CapibaraZero: A cheap alternative to FlipperZero™ based on ESP32-S3</h3> CapibaraZero is a cheap alternative to the popular FlipperZero™ device, it includes most of the features of the FlipperZero™ and of the WiFi devboard like: <ol><li>WiFi section: Scan for nearby networks and sniffing support </li><li>BLE section: BLE Spam attacks and sniffing feature </li><li>BadUSB support </li><li>SubGHZ section: RAW record, Frequency analyzer and emulation support </li><li>NFC section: Dump supported tag to SD and bruteforce MiFare tag </li><li>IR section: Record IR signal in RAW or decoded mode and emulate them. </li></ol> But it includes some new features that FlipperZero™ doesn't support like: <ol><li>LoRa support for SubGHZ </li><li>Network attacks section: DHCP starvation, fake captive portal for WiFi and ARP poisoner </li></ol> Missing features: <ol><li>125 kHz RFID(probably will never be supported) </li><li>iButton(support is doable but we will see in the future) </li><li>NFC Emulation(the support will be added in future) </li><li>SubGHZ protocol decoding </li><li>U2F </li><li>Installable apps </li></ol> Now, it's the moment to build a CapibaraZero! Step 1: Get the gerber files from the <a href="https://github.com/CapibaraZero/resources/tree/main/PCB/Arduino_Nano_ESP32">github repository </a>. Download the repo from <a href="https://github.com/CapibaraZero/resources/archive/refs/heads/main.zip">here </a>then go to resources/PCB/Arduino_Nano_ESP32 and upload all the files under the Gerber_Arduino_Nano_ESP32_CapibaraZero_Navigation_Board and Gerber_Arduino_Nano_ESP32_CapibaraZero_PCB_Arduino_Nano_ESP32_CapibaraZero to your favorite PCB maker, I recommend <a href="https://jlcpcb.com/">JLCPCB </a>. When your PCB will come to you, you will be ready for the step 2. Step 2: <div id="gallery"><img id="gallery" src="https://projects.arduinocontent.cc/91d3fa5b-f463-4566-a904-ca37f7f7fa9c.jpg"/><figcaption>Main board</figcaption>,<img id="gallery" src="https://projects.arduinocontent.cc/66cda2f5-db6e-422d-80ee-818d73256708.jpg"/><figcaption></figcaption>,<img id="gallery" src="https://projects.arduinocontent.cc/51b87358-5a3d-45f9-801e-e43317860adc.jpg"/><figcaption>Navigation board</figcaption></div>Now that you have the PCBs you can solder all the components. I recommend proceeding in this order: <ol><li>Firstly solder the SD card socket, the socket must be placed in the bottom layer of the PCB </li><li>Solder the 47 kΩ(R1) and the 100 KΩ(R2) </li><li>Solder the ST7789 display 8 female pin socket in the bottom layer </li><li>Solder 2.54 male pin to the SX1276 pin then solder male pin in the bottom layer of the PCB, make sure to follow the pinout on the board and orient SX1276 correctly </li><li>Solder the PN532 module using 4 wire, follow pinout on the board </li><li>Solder 2.54 pin to the TP4057 module and solder them in the upper layer of the PCB </li><li>Solder the IR transmitter and receiver. Follow the pin order on the PCBs(version 1.1.2). Step 3: Now it's the time to flash the firmware and prepare the SD card. You can check the SD card requirements and preparation procedure <a href="https://capibarazero.github.io/docs/docs/sdcard_structure">here </a>. Make sure to have esptool or platformio(if you want to build firmware from source) installed on your PC. Download the firmware <a href="https://github.com/CapibaraZero/fw/releases">here </a>for the arduino_nano_esp32 board, unzip the file, open a terminal and do: <code class="code">esptool.py --chip esp32s3 --port UPLOAD_PORT --baud 460800 --before default_reset --after hard_reset write_flash -z --flash_mode dio --flash_freq 80m --flash_size detect 0x0000 bootloader.bin 0x8000 partitions.bin 0xe000 boot_app0.bin 0x10000 firmware.bin </code>Where UPLOAD_PORT is the port of your Arduino Nano ESP32, you can find it in the device manager on Windows, on Linux you can do <code class="code">ls -la /dev/ttyACM* </code>or <code class="code">ls -la /dev/ttyUSB* </code>and on MacOS you can do <code class="code">ls -la /dev/cu.* </code>If all is correct you will see the main page on your display. Step 4: Now let's print the case, you can find the STL <a href="https://github.com/CapibaraZero/resources/tree/main/STL/arduino_nano_esp32">here </a>. Optimal parameter for the printer: Temperature: 200 degree Infill density: 20% Cura preset: Dynamic quality When the print will be finished, you will have to attach the navigation board to the lower layer of the case, if the clips doesn't works for your push button, you can cut one clip and put some hot glue like my case: <figure><img src="https://projects.arduinocontent.cc/826cfe7b-b16d-4e18-9c28-c9f856ef36ee.jpg"/><figcaption></figcaption></figure>Now you have to solder your battery to the TP4057 on the B- and B+ pins( the battery must be at least 2000mAh or more since the TP4057 module will deliver 1.2A to the battery ) and finally solder the 2 pin switch to the PCB(the order of wire in the switch is not important) and put it in the case. <figure><img src="https://projects.arduinocontent.cc/89389ccb-392a-4175-adfc-855a233c2796.jpg"/><figcaption></figcaption></figure> For a more PCB stability you can screw 4 M3 screws. Now you can put the PCB inside the case and start to use your CapibaraZero! <figure><img src="https://projects.arduinocontent.cc/bd8325cc-151a-464d-8395-f35ea1bd64a9.jpg"/><figcaption></figcaption></figure> Notes: <ol><li>Don't charge the battery with the CapibaraZero powered on, although the TP4057 2 in 1 module supports some sort of load sharing(when charging, the USB line is shared with OUT) the battery will charge slowly and may never complete the cycle and this can be dangerous for your battery(it will reduce battery life). Always put the power switch on the off position. </li><li>If you don't feel like using the lipo battery and the TP4057 module, use a powerbank as source for Arduino Nano ESP32. </li><li>Pay attention with the A0 pin, it's directly connected with the battery. Make sure to don't make shortcircuit. </li><li>SubGHZ frequency analyzer may need some signal repetition before find the right frequency </li></ol><a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLe8TjCWbYHdK9W9Y9C5u7SL4BhBNNE3-f">Here </a>you can find some demo videos.
